Objective
The Jordan Language Academy (JLA) Scholarship – Summer 2026 is designed to support outstanding university students who demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and a strong commitment to Arabic language and cultural studies.
These highly competitive scholarships offer the opportunity to participate in a full-time, intensive Arabic language and culture course in Amman, Jordan during the summer of 2026.
Students may apply for only one summer session.
Scholarship Details
Program: Intensive Course in Arabic Language and Culture
Language Level: Intermediate
Instructional Hours: Full-time, immersive instruction and cultural engagement (3–4 hours per day)
Location: Jordan Language Academy, Amman, Jordan
Duration: 4 weeks (choose one of the three summer sessions)

For each Summer 2026 session:
Eligibility Criteria

Academic Excellence: Strong academic performance and proven dedication to Arabic studies

Financial Need: Priority given to students with demonstrated financial hardship

Arabic Proficiency: Intermediate level required

Departmental Nomination: Official nomination by the student’s academic department

Cultural Engagement: Demonstrated enthusiasm for cross-cultural exchange

Personal Statement: Clear, motivated explanation of goals and scholarship relevance

Interview: Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by JLA staff
Nomination & Application Process
Academic departments must submit an official Letter of Nomination endorsing each applicant.
Note: The Letter of Nomination and Letter of Recommendation must be written by different individuals.
Nomination Letter: Official endorsement from the department (usually by a department head or academic advisor) confirming the student’s eligibility and academic standing.
Recommendation Letter: From a professor or mentor who can speak to the applicant’s academic ability, character, and commitment to Arabic study.

Personal statement (1–2 pages) outlining goals, financial need, and motivation

Faculty Letter of Recommendation

Arabic Essay (500–700 words) explaining your interest in studying at JLA, how the scholarship supports your goals, and your plans for cultural engagement

Interview (for shortlisted applicants)
Evaluation Criteria: Academic performance, financial need, Arabic essay, interview, and departmental endorsement.
Applicants must clearly indicate which summer session they are applying for.
Multiple applications will not be considered.
Deadlines & Notification
Late submissions will not be accepted.
Scholarship Disbursement
Scholarship funds will be applied directly to tuition fees at JLA.
Recipients are responsible for all other expenses, including airfare, housing, meals, insurance, excursions, and personal costs.
